Noye's Fludde

Benjamin Britten's wonderful community opera, Noyes Fludde - 60 years old this year - will be performed at St Mary's Church, Hendon, this month. The production, which lasts one hour, is a joint presentation by the church choir and St Mary's and St John's School, and will involve over 80 children in addition to a professional orchestra and amateur adult performers. The opera, based on one of the old English mystery plays, tells the story of the Flood and the building of the Ark. There are hymns for the audience to sing, and the staging will also include dance as well as music.
